Information We Collect
The Liki website follows data minimization. Account features collect your email address. Birth profiles collect an optional nickname, sex, birth date, birth time, birthplace, and notes. Chat collects messages you submit and interpretation content generated for you. Orders collect order and entitlement status, payment status, language preference, and support communications. We set login-session and language-preference cookies and retain hashed IP addresses and user-agent metadata for security. Page analytics are aggregate counters only: no path, cookie, or personal profile. Feedback you voluntarily submit is stored as submitted for product improvement.
How We Use Information
Birth profiles power the explicitly provided free charts, paid Liki Chat interpretation, compatibility, and naming services. Chat content maintains conversation context and produces interpretation. Email addresses deliver login codes, order notifications, and necessary support. Order and security metadata support payment, fulfillment, abuse prevention, and incident diagnosis. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising profiles or unrelated commercial purposes. Liki Skills outside this website run in your own AI assistant environment; that processing is governed by you and that assistant.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data based on the following legal grounds under applicable data protection laws: (1) Consent — by providing your birth information and proceeding with our services, you give explicit consent for us to process this data for metaphysical calculation and report generation purposes, per GDPR Article 6(1)(a); (2) Performance of a Contract — processing necessary to deliver the digital content service you have requested, per GDPR Article 6(1)(b); (3) Legitimate Interests — we have a legitimate interest in maintaining basic service analytics and preventing fraud or abuse of our services, per GDPR Article 6(1)(f), provided these interests are not overridden by your data protection rights. You may withdraw consent at any time by requesting deletion of your data; however, this will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Data Storage & Security
Website data is stored in SQLite databases on server-controlled storage volumes. Birth profiles and chats are retained until you delete the profile or account, or until deletion is legally required. Order, payment, and entitlement records are retained for finance, tax, and dispute-handling needs. Feedback is deleted or anonymized after its operational need ends. Transport uses HTTPS, credentials are hashed, partner payout accounts are encrypted, and system/database access is permission-controlled. Payment providers handle card data; Liki never receives or stores full card numbers, CVV, or payment passwords.
International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including Hong Kong, Singapore, and the United States, where our servers and service providers are located. These jurisdictions may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. When transferring personal data from the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom to third countries, we rely on: (i) adequacy decisions by the European Commission or UK government where applicable; (ii) standard contractual clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission; or (iii) other valid transfer mechanisms as provided under applicable data protection law. For residents of the People's Republic of China, we note that cross-border data transfers are conducted in compliance with the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) requirements, including obtaining separate consent where required and conducting personal information protection impact assessments. By using our services, you acknowledge and consent to such international transfers as described in this policy.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
This website uses minimal cookies and similar technologies. Specifically: Essential cookies: we use a session cookie to remember your language preference (zh, hk, or en) across pages. This cookie is strictly necessary for the multilingual functionality of the site and does not track your behavior across other websites. Analytics: we use a lightweight, self-hosted analytics solution to collect anonymized, aggregate visit statistics (page views, referrer, browser type). No personal identifiers, IP addresses, or fingerprints are stored. This data helps us understand which pages and languages are most used. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, social media trackers, cross-site tracking technologies, or any form of behavioral advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the core functionality of the site (including report generation and payment) does not depend on cookies. Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, we rely on legitimate interest for essential cookies and provide the option to decline analytics cookies where applicable law requires opt-in consent.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: Right of Access — you may request confirmation of whether we process your data and obtain a copy. Right to Rectification — you may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data. Right to Erasure ('Right to be Forgotten') — you may request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations. Right to Restriction of Processing — you may request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances. Right to Data Portability — you may request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. Right to Object — you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Rights regarding automated decision-making — our AI generates content for cultural entertainment purposes; we do not make legally or similarly significant decisions based solely on automated processing. For California residents: under CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete personal information, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share your data), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, typically 30 days, extendable by an additional 30 days for complex requests. We may need to verify your identity before processing requests.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children as defined under applicable laws. Specifically: Under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we do not knowingly process personal data of children under 16 years of age without parental consent where required by Member State law. Under the PRC Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), we do not knowingly process personal information of minors under 14 years of age without parental or guardian consent. Under Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, we apply appropriate measures regarding the collection and processing of data relating to minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. Upon verification, we will promptly delete such information from our systems. We recommend that parents and guardians supervise their children's online activities and consider using parental control tools.
Third Party Services & Sub-Processors
The Liki website currently relies on these sub-processors: Dodo Payments and XunhuPay for payments; Resend for login codes and order email; the configured large-language-model provider for metaphysical data and chat context needed to produce interpretation; and infrastructure/CDN providers for availability. Payment providers apply their own privacy policies to their checkout and payment data. We review their security and compliance commitments and update this disclosure when material sub-processor changes occur. Free Skills run in your local AI assistant environment and do not automatically send your assistant session to the Liki website.
Contact, Complaints & Supervisory Authority
For privacy-related inquiries, data subject requests, or complaints about our data handling practices, please contact our Data Protection team at [email protected]. We are committed to resolving privacy concerns promptly and fairly. Under GDPR Article 77, if you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority if you believe our processing of your personal data violates applicable data protection law. A list of EU data protection authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu. Under PIPL, residents of the People's Republic of China may file complaints with the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) or other designated authorities. Under California law, California residents may contact the California Privacy Protection Agency. We encourage you to contact us first to allow us the opportunity to address your concerns directly. We will not retaliate against any individual who exercises their data protection rights or files a complaint in good faith.
